Pet Food Express is one of the country's leading independent pet food and supply retailers. With 62 stores located throughout California we have helped find homes for over 61,000 homeless animals through Pet Food Express Adoptions and we work closely with and materially support numerous local SPCAs and pet rescue organizations. Additionally, we sponsor adoptions, low-cost vaccination clinics, and dog training classes at most of our stores. Our state-of-the-art Self-Service Pet Washes provide a unique and useful service for our customers. We truly try to be a welcome asset to each of the local communities that we serve!

Since 1908, our work has been to elevate the status of animals and strengthen the humane connection to them throughout our community.

Our animal support programs keep animals in homes and out of shelters, and our community engagement initiatives inspire compassion for all living beings.

In 1998, a group of forward-thinking women joined forces in Berkeley to found a grassroots group called Fix Our Ferals. Their success in caring for community cats through trap-neuter-return (TNR) and pop-up surgical clinics in the early 2000’s led to the opening of a free-standing spay/neuter center in Richmond in 2012. In 2017, Dr. Jean Goh (our Medical Director) and Robin Post (our Veterinary Technician Supervisor) were invited to take over the practice full time. We expanded our offerings to include other essential surgeries and began treating pet cats and dogs. In 2021, we adopted our new name, Animal Fix Clinic, to better reflect our expanded scope of practice and the public’s shifting attitude toward free-roaming cats. In 2022, we became the first Fear Free Certified® Spay/Neuter Clinic in the world, and our staff is now specially trained to care for both the emotional and physical health of our clients, ensuring each animal has a safe and secure visit.

San Francisco Pet Hospital is a well respected veterinary clinic in the heart of NOPA. The clinic has been around for over a hundred years and maintains its rich history and strong community feel. Our team of doctors is passionate and widely skilled. We offer wellness visits, urgent care appointments, telemedicine (coming soon), surgery and dentals. We do offer a free first visit to any rescued pet within 30 days of adopting with proper documentation.
