ADR rescues, fosters, medically treats and adopts out multiple cats per day. We have adopted out well over 1000 cats and kittens since we were established in 2014. We are a foster-based rescue so our cats do not live in cages ever. Many kittens and cats that we rescue come with a host of minor to major medical issues that need treatment in order to get them healthy for adoption, and the adoption donation does not cover all of the costs of transport, vetting, food, litter, equipment and medicines. We are a 100% volunteer based organization. We do this because we love cats and we want to help home the thousands of domestic cats in need in California.

Follow your heart and help us continue to save these beautiful creatures! All donations are tax deductible!

  • Palo Alto Humane’s mission is to inspire our community to connect humanely with animals.

Since 1908, our work has been to elevate the status of animals and strengthen the humane connection to them throughout our community.

Our animal support programs keep animals in homes and out of shelters, and our community engagement initiatives inspire compassion for all living beings.

  • In 1998, a group of forward-thinking women joined forces in Berkeley to found a grassroots group called Fix Our Ferals. Their success in caring for community cats through trap-neuter-return (TNR) and pop-up surgical clinics in the early 2000’s led to the opening of a free-standing spay/neuter center in Richmond in 2012. In 2017, Dr. Jean Goh (our Medical Director) and Robin Post (our Veterinary Technician Supervisor) were invited to take over the practice full time. We expanded our offerings to include other essential surgeries and began treating pet cats and dogs. In 2021, we adopted our new name, Animal Fix Clinic, to better reflect our expanded scope of practice and the public’s shifting attitude toward free-roaming cats. In 2022, we became the first Fear Free Certified® Spay/Neuter Clinic in the world, and our staff is now specially trained to care for both the emotional and physical health of our clients, ensuring each animal has a safe and secure visit.

  • San Francisco Pet Hospital is a well respected veterinary clinic in the heart of NOPA. We offer wellness visits, urgent care appointments, telemedicine (coming soon), surgery and dentals. We do offer a free first visit to any rescued pet within 30 days of adopting with proper documentation.
